Korean Flash KARD.... "A"

Okey Doke. Hey boys and girls... I am back again to share what little korean I know with you good folks out there.
Hopefully, I will do all the rest of them and have a full set of 26 critters. With all kinds of good Korean stuff.
So Here you go.

"A" is for Alligator, and I know that it might look a little like a crocodile. But, It's an Alligator because I have something else I planned for the letter "C". Now for the pronunciation. To say Alligator in Korean you need to syllables "AH-GO" it is a very short word with only one consonant. Think about saying "AGO", and adding a little AHH to the a part. So, "Ah-Go".

Also, here is an added bit of information, since I have already covered the letter F with a FOX.

I wanted to say that the word for FISH in korean is "MUL GOGI". Three Syllables and it actually is a pretty cool word. In short it means "Water Meat". "Mul" (MOOL roll U like a double OO) for water, and "GOGI" (GO Gee, just like it sounds) to make delicious Fish into a korean word.

Hulk Doodle with Leno Chin.

I noodled this out late night a few days back while monkeying around In flash..... He had a monster Leno Chin....
So I fiddled around with some photoshop on the bad boy.

Pumpkin' Frank.

IT'S ALIVE!!!!

So, Like I said I am working out the odd drawing to give my Father "Del" some ideas for pumpkin carving this year. Here is one I will actually send him.... the black areas would be caved out and I might suggest that he only gouge out some of the stitching on his neck and head to keep it sturdy.... The hair highlights might be a bit dodgy but, I imagine that my father'd probably make whatever I sent him better. Cuz, he's just awesome like that.

Far East Beast.

I was doodling some ideas for a pumpkin carving late last night....

I miss carving the mystic orange melon, and my father asked me to churn out some rough ideas that he might carve... so that we could have the finest pumpkins on the block back in michigan. I remember taking great pride in the act of carving the stuff.... good stuff.
SO here is a doodle that I would never ask my father to carve.... unless we built a dremill tool to scribe it all out. I would probably render some of the pumpkin surface with shading or sculpting so that i didn't have to weaken the pumpkins structure too much.... I like it though.

Another oddity of the MET.

So, I think I did this one about six months back or so. I was at the met on a SketchCrawl.... The Odd thing is that when I did the drawing I remember really likeing it. But, for some reason when I unearthed it tonight I looked at it and felt like it was Awfully Skunky. I hope it isn't just me.....I marvel how quickly I turn on my drawings....one day i love it....two hours later I don't.
Sigh....
I hope Jean Auguste Dominique Ingre isn't spinning in he grave right now.

This MET's for you.

HEY YO!!,

Well, I was at the Met last week to do some drawings with my friend Nat. She had been wanting to do this for some time so I freed up wednesday a little to get out. It was a good way to get out of the rut.....I have to admit that there is just so much of that museum that I just haven't seen.....Sigh....where is all the time.

Well here are some of the sketchs from that fateful day....I may have tossed a little color at them and tried to find photos for a side by side on all of them.. But, I could only find one. I will have to have Nat shoot photos with her iPhone next time...

I drew with with one of those faber castell PITT brushpens, I have to say that I really do like them... even better. The APELAD him self can tell you how to stretch a little extra life and money out of one of these great little markers....

TAG HEED.....

I dunno. Living here on the Island I see a lot of Tag. Some of its really great, and a lot of it realy Blows. Here is a five minute doodle with a purple sharpie I had in hand some time back. Not the color of my dreams but I ran with it....
HAPPY!!. I think people should do more tag with the can lodged in there mouth..I would be a real challenge on those overpasses.

PEDRO+ ELVIS= PELVIS

A good friend of mine from days long ago (back in the Michigan) sent me this under the title. "PELVIS!" I am guessing he means half Pedro, and half Elvis. Yeesh. I dunno I don't see the likeness but I don't have a photo to match the bad assness of the King...
I will say this though. When I lived and worked in Seoul, People (especially small children) would point at me on the street and say...... "EL BIS U" Because there is no V sound in Korean they used the "B". Also, while there I was called GUREHNARU which means Sideburns.. I think I will have some nice muttony looking chops here before too long.

Howdy Kids.

I wanted to let you all know that next week Sunday will host a special event up on my side of manhattan.
THE CLOISTERS MEDIEVAL FEST!!!!

You heard me right. That means you can draw Knights in Armor, and Wenches in Cortsets. FUN FUN FUN. Plus, you can hog out on one of those big turkey legs I think, maybe they'll hook up some "Mead" too.

Here are some of the particulars.
Its in Fort Tryon which you can reach by taking the 1 or the A, up to either 200th or 190th street. I live up here so if you need directions or other such info. Holler at me. Here are the other particulars.
The event is Sunday Sept 30th, with a raindate 10/7.

SUPER FIGHTING ROBOT!

So,

I am in the early stages of another collaborative project based around this guy here.

This little blue bomber doodle is part of a larger image....But I will post more as that all comes together....
Man this is a cool shirt...I kinda wish I owned it...

And as if that wasn't groovy enough, I have managed to harness the Painting Fury of ALLAN NORICO (seen on the right) who will make some pretty painting colors of our blue HERO.
I can't hardly wait. Good times ahead...

When its all finished I hope it looks better then the original box art...

I have no comment on that cover.........It just isn't good. But, If you've ever seen the cover for the first MegaMan released here in the U.S. the cover for MegaMan 2 a Picasso by comparison.

I hope everyone it doing well on your respective ends ... I will post more soon so please return... I'll try to get back into the Korean Flash Cards (have most all the animals mapped out). NOIR!

I am sorta tuckered out right now.... even though I caught a 2.5 hour nap after bob ross this afternoon. I didn't sleep last night and I spent most of this morning rocking out with some little errands and business that I needed to address...
I took a breather to fiddle with this mess here.....

I did this drawing in the Cheyenne diner (all night awesome foods, and good service!!) on ninth ave. Just off 34th street with my friends who wanted to draw in a noir theme....It was FUN

Stan,..... STAN the SHARK MAN!!!

Some time back my friend JAMES WRIGHT (seen to the right), and myself resolved to investigate the next step in the evolution of sharks......
This was shortly after they discovered that certain breeds of shark could reproduce with only one asexually. Logically, we determined that one day sharks would rise up from the waves and conquer man.
So, James and I agreed to a drawing competition. HE looked at the MAN SHARK (named Mark) and I looked at the SHARK MAN (Stan) We just wanted to do some wacky drawings that would go toe to toe.
I haven't seen the Mark drawing yet but I have shown James, the drawing of STAN!.
SO HERE'S STAN!

Oddly enough I drew this the same night i drew the previous Krang. So my buddy "Smo", must have telepathic abilities....
I agree with him and Brendan in the respect that the original Krang sorta remined me of "Blaster" from "Thunderdome". I dunno about you but I cried when Ironbar (the guys real name is "Angry" I am not shitting you) shot him in the guts with the crossbow.....so sad.
Kinda like this drawing..... I messed with the arms from the original Sharpie drawing....I just hated how they turned out so, without drawing new ones I made modifications.....

I can imagine Krang's evil little laugh right now. Good times.

I unearthed this from a recently finished sketch pad. It was drawn while I was visiting L.A. for the Con, back at the beginning of the month. I also need to say that this isn't all my drawing...... it was started by the most talented 'JEFF VICTOR' (who's link is off to the side as well as below) during the thursday drawing fling at Priscilla's.

Jeff Deftly noodled out the basic body type and then I requested the permission to do something to the rest of the drawing. So, he is Kratos now... I really like the way that Jeff handled the neck and arms...the head was great too but, it only got better with the inclusion of the beard. Best part is JEFF LET ME KEEP THIS JEM!!.

Dateline Thursdays.

Greetings Sketch Addicts,
After a recent visit to L.A. and my return to New York I have noticed that there is a shortage of sketch nights.... There is no figure drawing for me to go to for the next few weeks so I figured that Thursdays are fair game.....

So, if you are an artist, and wanna hang out...climb aboard.. bring friends......bring yourself and your gear and do some drawings.....there are cafes and restaurants in the area if you don't want to spend all night in the park... But, come out and draw for the love of Pete.

OH BOY!!!,

I am back from San Diego and trying to get rolling again. I am about to get going on a few small projects but, a small delay let me make this little guy for you all to look at...

In Korean is pronounced with two parts (DWEH-JEE). think of saying "Wedgie" but ad a "D" sound to the front end and popping the second syllable with solid "JEE"!
