Alright Ladies and Gents,

Here is my sampling of visual viscera for this Wednesday..
The Ink-month thing is drawing to a close, and with it comes a bit of self reflection...
I'm usually drawing, even when I don't post, and if the October challenge has done anything it's reminded me of the importance in getting work out there.  So I'll keep at that even after the month ebbs away and I've plucked all the candy corn from betwixt my teeth.

I hope you've enjoyed peeking at my work.
Will see you again on Friday here for the finale.

Be tough and draw stuff.

Hope you dig,
P

It Came from 1984!

"Little Byrne, Big Suit" 10x10  Pencil, maker, bristol & paper collage.

Earlier this month I wrapped up this image for a show over at Bottleneck Gallery in Brooklyn.
The only guideline from the gallery was that I needed to reference a movie from the year 1984.  Sounded like fun, and I signed on.

Upon further research I found that there were a bunch of fantastically inspiring films to work with. That one short year between the end of 83' and the dawn of 85' had me considering 12 possible movies.  I had to narrow it down to one image.

So, my brain shut down for a time.  Overwhelmed by the options and possibilities that usually send my mind into a spin.  Granted I draw a lot of stuff during this time; mostly sketches.  This often doesn't help, must like having a team of sled dogs all pulling in opposing directions.  After two days of sketching I can be left with WAY TOO MANY OPTIONS, and a deadline that is not going to change.  Gotta find a direction then get into the execution, not the other way around.  Must remind myself to point those dogs in one direction, and then GO.

That aside I wound up making an image based on the Talking Heads concert film Stop Making Sense.
I wound up abandoning a few images and going with something kinda basic.  However, part way through the rending one of my earlier ideas resurfaced.  Had fun with it, and it seems to have gone over well in the show.

Same as it ever was,

Happy Halloween!

Hey everyone!
I'm around, still drawing... ALWAYS Drawing, in spite of being tad withdrawn from posting regularly.  Flipped through the ol' stack o' sketches and found this Karate Kid inspired Johnny Lawrence type Hoodlum.

I bit I wrote below it has nothing to do with the movie, but it does seem like sound advice.
Wishing you all a safe holiday with unreasonable amounts of delicious
candy.

Hope you dig,
P

HOLY MOLY!  I also Drew this ZOMBIE today!

9/27/13

Crystals of Dungeon Vision.

Glowing crystals increase visibility in even the darkest dungeons.

This is mostly Flair feltpen & marker with a few patches and color mods in photoshop.

Hope you dig, and keep exploring while your at it...

Random Scribbletts with MARKER!

Two days in a row!
It's like I'm back on the wagon. Sorta.

I'm weeding through a heap of old images trying to cull out the least stinky drawings I can find in order to share a little bit, and perhaps prove that in spite of my absence that I am NOT a total lazybones.

A little marker work with the Copics in all of these and I framed some of it with a bit of Photoshop stuff. Kept it simple.

Hope you Dig.

Scrawlings!

I Sketched some professions that a kid might think about having when they grow up... And yes, I though about a future in FARMING.

Hero:D6!

He emerged from the velvety dark wasteland onto a bleak battlefield.

Scribblets...

I'm working on wrapping up some show images today.  But, needed a few minutes to relax my eyes from looking at the light table and stuff.  Looking at the computer wouldn't seem like a good distraction from that but it worked just fine..

Here's some scribbles for a Saturday afternoon.  I strange bird of some unknown origin along with three lil' blob fellows.
Nothing special, bit o'marker, dash of photoshop, because little distractions can sometimes improve the workflow.

Hope you dig,
P

DEAD ROBOT EYES.

So, We meet again.
Yes, Mega Man has popped up on my radar over the last few days.
Around the same time this sketch appeared by my desk.

His cold dead eyes let me know that he's out to destroy some Robot Masters.

Hope you dig.
