Crusing right Along.

So, I am attempting to get back into the swing of caricatures and such..
It keeps me busy, while helping me study faces, and work on rendering techniques.

This is Flash and Photoshop for colors. I gleaned a new photoshop process from chatting with CHRIS WAHL, This was for a fellow over on the Drawing BOARD! (HERE!)
Some Fine work done by the people here and It's a steady source of Informative Inspiration for me to work from.

So.
I drew this guy.

Where is my Memory?..

Jeez,

I keep getting sidetracked lately....Seems like the Internet has a lot to do with it....Lots of lights, colors, and sounds.....Distracting.

Very Distracting. So, in the recent interest of working with Flash again. I decided to build some prop type things.... I enjoy using that program so much for design. With some of the Vector applications and the ease with which I can manipulate things. Its very fun.

Granted the object I have here is photoshoped a little. Still, it was fun to make. and it resonated with some of the ideas behind why I'm a little distracted of late.

Yeah.

Times are rough, But being an artist makes things even more uncertain.
I've always been taught that "Life without art is stupid.", and I do believe it.

I am not a Doctor, or a Scientist, but, I think of myself as a sort of professional.
I guess the trouble comes when the craft of what people create is undercut and not really valued as important.

Not trying to get rich...I just wanna get by, and do something I care about.
But, with the financial status of our world, its really hard to see that sometimes.

In retrospect, I am thankful for what I have right now (said it over my turkey dinner last Nov. too), loving my work.
But,even with a little stablity I find myself wondering if it will be enough to meet the future, or have a modest family, or whatever.

Major Malfunction

Sometimes the Military doesn't make the best plans. Or maybe its just this guy. He played a lot of Risk growing up but, he lost a lot of those games....

Hope you like him, because if you don't your doing push-ups.

STORIES UNTOLD....

This Scribble hopped offa' my pencil while hanging out with Mr. JOE STUCKY.
I think we where drinking and watching ROCKY AND BULWINKEL at one or two in the morning.
I gotta think of something to draw for his girls this year for the holidays....one's TWO and the other is SIX...YEESH. CHALLENGING MY MIND.

Might do a rendering like this on it though....I am happy with how some of my brush manipulation is working out....But, always room for improvement. Kinda like a story book illustration.

DEVIL MAY CARE..

I forgot about this drawing last halloween. Didn't think it would finish well.
But, I dug it up a few days back and fooled around with it...

So, here is a RED HORNED DEVIL...
I actually like how the linework filled in with the use of some vector masks in photoshop. Its a fun tool that I should probably use more. IT would incorperate some of my flash design into photoshop rather well I think.
