Well, May's Marvel images is starting to wind down.. I could keep going but, think it might be smart to step back from it and try apply myself to other endeavors...
I might have one more sketch to add before the end of the month but this looks like it'll be the last marvel paint for a bit...So, Here's "The Man Without Fear".
I personally really like the whole premise of Daredevil....moreover I like the idea that Matt Murdock isn't indestructible, sure he's a skilled fighter. But, I like how most of his power seems to be centered around his being attuned and aware of his surroundings in a unique and focused way.
So, I've tinkered with this paint for longer then I would have liked..Most of my troubles stemmed from color issues (which I am still having with this image), mostly contrast stuff. But, its given me some food for thought on future images..
Hope you Dig,

ASTOUNDINGLY ACROBATIC ATTORNEY APPLIES AMAZINGLY AWESOME ADITORY ABLIITIES!!

SHAPELY SINISTER SHAPESHIFTING SEDUCTRESS...
Hit or Miss, its another marvel female....but villain this time..... looking back at this one I dunno what to say..
Yeah...I dinked around with this one for a while and I am not sure it came out all that great...I've had Kevin Dart on the brain lately. This may be a poor translation of his style...but, it was a fun loose painting exercise...
Some of it really works for me, and some of it...just doesn't...
Still I might come back to it...I think I can make it better....gotta keep telling myself that....

In case you hadn't heard.
HE'S THE JUGGERNAUT BITCH!..
Well, sorta.. I figured he was villain enough for my may marvel painting experiments..
So far I've been having some fun with them and they're a pretty good distraction from other things I have going on.. I try to keep the number of brushes I'm using down to a few, and some textures for good measure...I spent far less time on this one then I did on the ROUGE image...and I think the outcome was equally alright...
I'm working on a female villain now. And then I have a small handful of sketches that I've already done and hopefully will have time to execute. Part of the fun of these is doing one quick drawing to get the mood of the image going, then I don't do revisions on paper (like I normally would) and then I just force myself to work it over in photoshop.... as you can This image was particularly ugly as a sketch.
But, For now this is what I've got...
Hope you dig..

Smoldering Sultry Southern Superheroine Soarin' & Smilin'...
Yep...
She's a marvel character, and a lady too boot... I went with the old school outfit because....I like it better. Earth tones are fun!..
I'm running out of May for Marvel I'll see about doing another few...but, can't be sure they'll make it to color due to time constraints...
Gotta do a villian now that I think about it...I could just post a MODOK...
NAW..MARVELS GOT OTHER FUN VILLAINS TO DRAW...MARCH IS FOR MODOK..
Beyond that I hope you dig the exercise...I'm starting to get more comfortable with color in P Shop, and making chages to images on the fly is coming more naturally too...
Just. To give you an idea of what this looks like prior to painting I'll post up the sketch too.
Be nice if I could figure out a way to post a little progress movie clip without having to record it.
Well, Hope you dig..Villain up next...I have one in mind....anyone got a good idea?

CARD CARRYING CANTANKEROUS CAJUN'!
UpDATE!
So I desaturated it a bit, too purple...also I fudged in the weird t-shape to his mask.. Here it is...
and Here's the image from yesterday.. Which do you think works better?
Yep....
I went there.
Another Marvel character that I thought was pretty cool as a kid (mind you I'm a pretty huge dork)...maybe it was the bo staff....or the explosive playing cards...I dunno. Brown leather dusters are cool right?
Realized that I haven't drawn a female yet....So, I've got a few sketched to rectify that...liked this sketch so I gave it a going over...
Hope you dig.....
I'm off to the bayou..
P
P.S. Looking again I used entirely too much purple...there is no contrast...I'll post up something later to rectify that too.

CAPITAL CAPTAIN!..
This like some of the other recent marvel posts sprang from a terrible sketch (which is why I've not shown it here...
But, I moved a few things around and did some paint. It wound up being a fun little study.
Hope you Dig.

BRUTISH BRUCE BANNER..
Yeah... I did it again, defaced another marvel character...
The sketch was rough, very loose, and and had a few things I didn't quite like. But, also I didn't feel compelled to go back and correct them for this image. I tacked on some colors and tried to give it some more action....
HULK SMASH!
Hope you dig,

OH SNAP!, THUNDERCLAP!!
I've got a few comic characters floating around in the sketchbooks and pads lately I've been re-reading the essential Captain America, and I'm soaking up the Jack Kirby images..
SO GOOD...
I Kinda like how the Ol' Champion of Asgard turned out.
Might fiddle out more Marvel drawings this May...I've got a lot I wanna get done by the end of the month so I'll have to see.
I hope you dig..
