Smoldering Sultry Southern Superheroine Soarin' & Smilin'...

Yep...
She's a marvel character, and a lady too boot... I went with the old school outfit because....I like it better. Earth tones are fun!..
I'm running out of May for Marvel I'll see about doing another few...but, can't be sure they'll make it to color due to time constraints...
Gotta do a villian now that I think about it...I could just post a MODOK...
NAW..MARVELS GOT OTHER FUN VILLAINS TO DRAW...MARCH IS FOR MODOK..

Beyond that I hope you dig the exercise...I'm starting to get more comfortable with color in P Shop, and making chages to images on the fly is coming more naturally too...
Just. To give you an idea of what this looks like prior to painting I'll post up the sketch too.
Be nice if I could figure out a way to post a little progress movie clip without having to record it.

Well, Hope you dig..Villain up next...I have one in mind....anyone got a good idea?

  2. Thanks William....Its kinda fun to do these exercises with some known characters....That way. I get people that already like that character to check out my spin on it...

    Glad your digging the work..

  5. Great depiction of Rogue, love the full bodied figure and her expression. However, the outfit is hardly "old school" as this outfit came into play a good 10 years or so after her first appearance. Sorry, nerding out. Great piece!

  6. Brendan, I don't doubt it...your indeed a font of comic knowledge...need to have beers again soon..do some drawings...
I guess when I say old school I'm just specifying that its not the New Rogue designs...which I am not quite as keen on. Something about the hair.

  11. Awesome Rogue, mister. She looks downright irrepressible. As for villains, how about Cobra, the Leader, or Batroc the Leaper? Has there ever been a Leader-Leaper super-villain team-up? There oughta be!

  12. Oooooo.... a Cobra/Mr. Hyde duo would be cool. I'm always up for some Batroc, too. If you want some villains, Dr. Doom, Klaw, Absorbing Man, Grey Gargoyle, Thundra, or some Spidey villains (Rhino?)...

Love the jets whizzing by in the background of this pic, man. Nice detail.
