Lots of love to all my ghouls and ghoulettes out there. I hope your all having a good one and munching on some candy..
ZOMBOY wants to wish you a Happy Halloween too. He is trying to give you his ear because he is out of other delicious treats.
Take Care everybody, feel free to leave a comment or email and lemme know how your doing..
Welcome back everyone....
My computer is back, and I am getting back on the wagon. I hope all of you are headed towards having a good Halloween.
Here is an armed Thug from London. He will not stick you up for candy....he just wants your wallet and your watch.
This is a rejected passport photo... Curtousy of (Cameraman) Mr. RYAN ESTRADA. He took some great photos for my little blue passbook. The one I chose is possibly the best identification photo I have ever taken. Or will ever take for that matter...
ALSO, in a few hours I have to give over my computer. It needs fixing so that it can help me with making the artworks. I pledge to you all that I will have some groovy new drawings... and possibly a few photos for you all when I return...
Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate it.
October is winding down. Holidays around the corner. I wanted to post this right quick while I make some last minute preperations for some computer service that I need to attend to... My Laptop had been acting screwy of late so I will have to relinquish it to the people of Apple so that that they can sort out the problem. This month has been pretty good for posts. I am not sure If I will be able to rock this pace next month.... Maybe I will do better... I dunno. Perhaps I'll have something tomorrow, then I'll be away for a week or so.... But with some discipline, in that time away from posting. I will try to make someart that will make you smile when I fire up the posts again.
Thank you all again for your support. Without other artists out there. This wouldn't be as much fun.
To Celebrate post number 83 here is a doodle of a Norseman with a big ol' hammer. Lets see if I can break a hundred posts by the end of November. Furthermore, lets see if I can kick up the quality to a whole new level.
Okey Doke. Hey boys and girls... I am back again to share what little korean I know with you good folks out there.
Hopefully, I will do all the rest of them and have a full set of 26 critters. With all kinds of good Korean stuff.
So Here you go.
"A" is for Alligator, and I know that it might look a little like a crocodile. But, It's an Alligator because I have something else I planned for the letter "C". Now for the pronunciation. To say Alligator in Korean you need to syllables "AH-GO" it is a very short word with only one consonant. Think about saying "AGO", and adding a little AHH to the a part. So, "Ah-Go".
Also, here is an added bit of information, since I have already covered the letter F with a FOX.
I wanted to say that the word for FISH in korean is "MUL GOGI". Three Syllables and it actually is a pretty cool word. In short it means "Water Meat". "Mul" (MOOL roll U like a double OO) for water, and "GOGI" (GO Gee, just like it sounds) to make delicious Fish into a korean word.
Go forth, be smart, and empowered, Never stop learning.
So, Like I said I am working out the odd drawing to give my Father "Del" some ideas for pumpkin carving this year. Here is one I will actually send him.... the black areas would be caved out and I might suggest that he only gouge out some of the stitching on his neck and head to keep it sturdy.... The hair highlights might be a bit dodgy but, I imagine that my father'd probably make whatever I sent him better. Cuz, he's just awesome like that.
Happy Halloween advances to you all.
I was doodling some ideas for a pumpkin carving late last night....
I miss carving the mystic orange melon, and my father asked me to churn out some rough ideas that he might carve... so that we could have the finest pumpkins on the block back in michigan. I remember taking great pride in the act of carving the stuff.... good stuff.
SO here is a doodle that I would never ask my father to carve.... unless we built a dremill tool to scribe it all out. I would probably render some of the pumpkin surface with shading or sculpting so that i didn't have to weaken the pumpkins structure too much.... I like it though.
doodle plus me fooling about:
Thanks for having a look. Best wishes on your Halloween costumes kids.
Lots of new stuff on the blog...I think am getting a second wind as autumn winds into winter.
Here is the rough doodle and the finish with color from something that distracted me yesterday. I tribute this to my friends out there who aren't working and those who are soon to be on the breadline with me... I salute you all.
Please check out other recent posts....LOTS TO SEE.
THANKS AGAIN FOR STOPPING IN, AND FOR LEAVING ALL YOUR WONDERFUL FEEDBACK.....YOUR THE REASON I KEEP BLOGGING.
So, I think I did this one about six months back or so. I was at the met on a SketchCrawl.... The Odd thing is that when I did the drawing I remember really likeing it. But, for some reason when I unearthed it tonight I looked at it and felt like it was Awfully Skunky. I hope it isn't just me.....I marvel how quickly I turn on my drawings....one day i love it....two hours later I don't.
I hope Jean Auguste Dominique Ingre isn't spinning in he grave right now.
Well, I was at the Met last week to do some drawings with my friend Nat. She had been wanting to do this for some time so I freed up wednesday a little to get out. It was a good way to get out of the rut.....I have to admit that there is just so much of that museum that I just haven't seen.....Sigh....where is all the time.
Well here are some of the sketchs from that fateful day....I may have tossed a little color at them and tried to find photos for a side by side on all of them.. But, I could only find one. I will have to have Nat shoot photos with her iPhone next time...
High angle doodle of armored knight on horse (its German armor from Nurmberg in 1584):
Study of "Maria" by Kees Van Dongen:
and a study of Edward Wortley Montagu by George Romney:
Fun stuff!! I hope you dig,
This was nearby in that same stack of doodles as the last hobo post. I think the travel bug must be biting me again.
I hope living here in New York isn't making me too rooted.
Thanks for all your comments and for stopping in.
P.S. For all of you truely cultured individuals out there, this is my 69th post.. Now that I am done smirking, I will get going on the next 69 posts.
If you haven't seen hobo's you should check um out......Next big thing..
APELAD does some NICE HOBO DRAWINGS.
I drew with with one of those faber castell PITT brushpens, I have to say that I really do like them... even better. The APELAD him self can tell you how to stretch a little extra life and money out of one of these great little markers....
I dunno. Living here on the Island I see a lot of Tag. Some of its really great, and a lot of it realy Blows. Here is a five minute doodle with a purple sharpie I had in hand some time back. Not the color of my dreams but I ran with it....
HAPPY!!. I think people should do more tag with the can lodged in there mouth..I would be a real challenge on those overpasses.
A good friend of mine from days long ago (back in the Michigan) sent me this under the title. "PELVIS!" I am guessing he means half Pedro, and half Elvis. Yeesh. I dunno I don't see the likeness but I don't have a photo to match the bad assness of the King...
I will say this though. When I lived and worked in Seoul, People (especially small children) would point at me on the street and say...... "EL BIS U" Because there is no V sound in Korean they used the "B". Also, while there I was called GUREHNARU which means Sideburns.. I think I will have some nice muttony looking chops here before too long.
Just wanted to share.
